Child Protection Mediator for High Conflict Divorce

As a Child protection mediation (CPM) and being  trained as Mental Health Service Provider and LPC-S,  I have professional experience working with high conflict separated  parent is a collaborative problem solving process. This involves an impartial and neutral person who facilitates constructive negotiation and communication among parents, lawyers, child protection professionals, and possibly others, in an effort to reach a consensus regarding how to resolve issues of concern when children are alleged to be abused, neglected or abandoned.    The child’s voice in the decision making process is essential and is typically presented either directly by the child or by other means, such as by an advocate for the child.   I can assists parents with implementing their  parenting plan and making the necessary changes needed to establish a  collaborative parallel parenting partnership. I will be fully  certificated in March with AFCC (Association of Family and Conciliation Courts)  – the premier interdisciplinary and international association of professionals dedicated to the resolution of family conflict.  

 As a CPM,  I will encourage constructive communication and information sharing and fosters an environment where genuine engagement and agreement is possible.  As a consensual decision making process, no agreement can be reached unless all the involved parties agree.  In addition to reaching important decisions regarding children and families, CPM can lead to a greater sense of teamwork and a greater understanding and ownership of resulting agreements by all involved.

AFCC  has developed Practice Guidelines and Standards for family and divorce mediation, child custody evaluation, parenting  coordination, brief focused assessment and court-involved involved  therapists.  Task forces and special projects address the ongoing  challenges faced by AFCC members and the families they serve.  AFCC  actively disseminates innovations and ideas to its members.  The ripple  effect can be seen in courts and communities throughout the world.
